Mary Ann Wright, 79, of Battle Creek, MI, went to be with Jesus on September 8, 2017 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. She was born in Grand Rapids on January 11, 1938, the daughter of Frank and Laura (Laska) Maka, and sister to Daniel (Carol) Maka, all of who preceded her in death. Her granddaughter, Abigail Wright, also preceded her in death.

Mary Ann graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School in 1955. She worked for Kellogg’s as a keypunch operator, as a bookkeeper for several banks and credit unions in Battle Creek and Grand Rapids, and she was a Realtor in Grand Rapids. In her leisure time she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, Bible study, golfing, flower gardening, and going to the lake shore.

She is survived by her sons, Greg (Carin) Wright of Mesick, Brian (Debbie) Wright of Grand Rapids, and Terry (Karen) Wright of Noblesville, IN; a daughter, Karen (Joe) Wright of Battle Creek; a daughter-in-law Karen (Bill) Cadwallader of Battle Creek; her best friend Charlene Bartha of Bellevue; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; her Aunt Ginger (John) Koryto of Grand Rapids; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Per Mary Ann’s wishes, there will be a private family gathering at the shores of Lake Michigan - her favorite place to find peace and rest.
