Obituary for Charles "Charlie Brown" Fleming

Charles "Charlie Brown" A. Fleming, 81, of Climax, Michigan, was called home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born on December 27, 1936, the son of Albert W. Fleming and Elizabeth Sleeper Fleming.
Charles was a graduate Climax-Scotts High School and then served in the Michigan Army National Guard for 6 years. He was employed at Clark Equipment Company for 32 years until the plant closed in 1987 and then was employed at Denso Mfg. for 19 1/2 years until retiring in 2007. He was a farmer on the farm he grew up on and resided his entire life.
Charles is survived by his Wife of 54 years, Miriam Alberta Fleming; Daughters, Rhonda (Steve) Stratton and Rochelle (Jon Stermer) Kessler; "Son he never had", David Hakes; Niece, Christine (Albrecht) Lake; Nephew, Steve Lake; Special Friend, Radka (Jarek) Fajt and Several Great Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; Sister, Betty Ann Albrecht and Brother-in-Law, James Albrecht.
Charles enjoyed being outside, working in his yard, garden, mowing grass, traveling, working in his home shop, building and repairing things. He enjoyed driving his pickup truck with his dog beside him. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He and Miriam were members of First Assembly of God for over 50 years and then were members at Ft. Custer Christian Assembly until his passing. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and life member of Climax Prairie Lodge #59 F&AM serving as a Worshipful Master from 1985 to 1986. He was a licensed amateur radio operator for over 40 years. He was a member of the Kalamazoo Valley Antique Tractor Club.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Wednesday March 14, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service , 375 W. Dickman Road, on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert G. Muirhead of Ft. Custer Christian Assembly officiating.
Interment will take place in the Roof Cemetery, Charleston Twp.
