Obituary

Aaron Jay Little, 59, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 15th 2020, in his home after experiencing heart failure. Aaron was born on May 2nd 1960 at the Battle Creek Community Hospital. He is survived by his father, Lonnie Little; his youngest brother; Stuart Little; and his niece, Nicole Little. He is predeceased by his mother, Patricia Little; and his brother, Jeffery Little.

Aaron attended the Kalamazoo Valley Community College and the University of Hawaii in the mid 80’s where he studied Marine Biology. He later moved back to Kalamazoo, and opened a restaurant in 1986 called Arnies’ Pizza and Sandwich Shop. Aaron absolutely loved animals, nature, and science. He spent much of his time at the zoo, and enjoyed collecting rare artifacts from all over the world.

Although, an accident in his early high school years led him to lose the use of his legs, that never slowed him down. He joined the Special Olympics where he set records in club throwing in Atlanta, Georgia and Great Britain, taking home the bronze medal in both events. He also participated in table tennis and wheelchair basketball.

Aaron was the best friend anyone could ask for, and he was always known to help someone out on the drop of a dime. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; whether it be going to the movies to check out the latest horror film, shooting hoops with his closest friends, or catching a band at a local festival. He also attended the roller derby regularly, and quickly became the teams #1 fan.

Aaron loved his feline companion, Bongo and was heartbroken when he passed January 10th 2020. He shared with us how close the two had become calling him “his best buddy of 10 years”.

Aaron will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his presence will remain with everyone, telling us to “Always look on the bright side of life.”

The honor of your company is requested at a luncheon reception immediately following the funeral services on Saturday, February 8th 2020 at 2:30 pm, with the family receiving friends an hour before the service,

I have many memories of you and your family and mine when we were kids, going camping, Saturday night popcorn or haystacks and board games. Fond memories they will always be for me. You are gone far too soon and will be missed by many. RIP my friend! Cindy "White" Neff
