Obituary for Alberta B. Smith

Alberta Bernice Smith, 80, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born on August 26, 1939, the daughter of Owen James Eager and Vivian Viola (Kohn) Jasperson. Alberta studied business at Central High School and Kellogg Community College. She modeled for Joan Jewett in Battle Creek, Lansing, and New York. Using the skills she learned modeling, she taught charm school at Pennfield High School, Athens High School and at Kellogg Community College. Alberta also worked for several companies in the Battle Creek area including; BC Gas, EPI Printers, Clark Equipment, and American Fibrit, where she was a plant manager. After retirement, she continued to work as the owner of Driftwood Estates Investments.

She is survived by her son, Troy (Stephanie) Estree; two daughters, Sherri Hegner and Pamela (Tim) Ranard; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

In accordance with Alberta's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
