Alisa Lou (Brighton) Dewalt of Battle Creek, Michigan unexpectedly passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the age of 66. She was born to Jack and Vivian Brighton on September 10, 1955.

Alisa enjoyed coffee in the morning while listening to the word, laying in the sun, riding to Chick-fil-A with her husband Lloyd, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as ministering to those she encountered in her day to day life. She had a talent for interior/outdoor decorating and creating one of a kind arrangements.

Alisa was preceded in death by her father, Jack Brighton and sister, Annie Riener.

Alisa is survived by her husband, Lloyd Dewalt; mother, Vivian Brighton; three children, Michelle (Randall) Jimenez, John Jimenez and Deon (Kyleigh) Dewalt; six siblings, Andy (Marcia), Amy (Dan), Abbie (David), April, Annette (Kenneth) and Angie; eight grandchildren, Javon, Sasha Raé, Daizon, Rashelle, Karmello, Mia, Malia and Deon; two great-grandchildren, Carina and Catalina and several nieces and nephews.

Words from her Husband:

“I met Lisa, in 1983, at a show my dad was playing at the Ramada. That night, after the show ended, they were spinning records and I asked her to dance with me but she said she was there with another friend. Her friend told her “dance with him” and from that moment forward we were inseparable. She was my backbone and took care of me and the family. We never wanted to be apart. Through the years, we made it through all the ups and downs. We were a team. We always had a good time together. I’m thankful for all the times we had. There will never be another Lisa Lou.”

Friends and family are invited to an open visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Rd., Battle Creek, MI 49037.
