Anelda L-Veta VanDorsten, 79, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born on March 3, 1939, the daughter of Leroy and L-Veta (Ovenshire) Smith.
Anelda graduated from Delton-Kellogg High School.She worked and retired from the State of Michigan as a Dining Room Supervisor. Anelda was an active member of the Urbandale Baptist Church.
Anelda is survived by her Husband of 27 years - Tom Allen VanDorsten of Battle Creek, MI; Brother, Ira Lee Smith of Rockwall, TX; Two Sisters, Cheryl Coughman of Springfield, MI, Mavis Hudson of Springfield, MI, and other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her Son, Randall Smith.
Anelda enjoyed spending time at the bowling alley, her and Tom's first date was at the bowling alley where she out-bowled him. Anelda liked to listen to her dad and uncle's play instruments. She also enjoyed staying home and taking care of things and helping Tom with his small business.
