Obituary for Anthony "Tony' Gordon Nunnally Sr.
Anthony "Tony" Gordon Nunnally Sr., 61 passed away at his home in Battle Creek, MI on Wednesday August 18th, 2021. He was born on December 8th, 1959 in Battle Creek, MI.
Tony attended Battle Creek Central High School where he demonstrated his passion for sports, playing basketball and graduating in 1978. Tony went on to work as a maintenance technician in many different avenues over the years, most recently devoting 12 years to McCamly Plaza Hotel. Tony was known for his passion and knowledge of all sports, most specifically his love for basketball. In addition, he had amazing artistic skills and often expressed love through his drawings and art. In his free time he enjoyed his beloved family and friends, as well as watching Sci-Fi and horror films along with the company of his canine companions.
Tony was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Anderson Daniel and Betty Ann (Richardson) Nunnally; Maternal Grandparents, Carl Devern and Verna Dell (Hackley) Mayberry; and Mother, Patricia Ann (Mayberry) Nunnally.
He is survived and will be remembered by his Father, Basil Gordon Nunnally; Sister Susan (Brian) McCall; Children, Mercedes (Michael) Nichols and Anthony (Elva Montoya) Nunnally Jr.; Grandchildren, Jaeda Nichols, J'nyah Nichols, and Kohen Nunnally; Niece Dionna (Jovani) Cooper, as well as extended family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service on Thursday, September 2, 2021 starting at 12:00 (noon).
