Obituary for Arnold W. Shelley

Arnold William Shelley, 85, of Climax, MI, passed away , Monday, April 4, 2011. He was born August 11, 1925 the son of Curtis and Mabel (Dunn) Shelley.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor of 35 Years; sons: James Hallead of Battle Creek, Roger Hallead of Carr, MI, Bruce (Tamera) Entsminger of Battle Creek; daughters: Barb Shelley of Charlotte, Linda Smith of Battle Creek, Karen Voss of Battle Creek, Cathy (Mike) Klimczak of Vicksburg; 8 grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; sisters: Betty (Ervin) Borsum of Lake City, Ruth (Dick) Shelton, Mariann (Ralph) Wine of Vicksburg; and sister-in-law: Mae Shelley of Schoolcraft. Preceded in death by his brother Ernest.
Arnold was a medic in the Korean conflict where he earned the Good Conduct and National Defense Service Medal. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and gardening. He was also a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #465.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 6-8PM at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service. Following interment at Fort Custer National Cemetery a memorial service will take place at the Westlake Presbyterian Church Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:30PM with Reverend Mason Shambach officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the West Lake Presbyterian Church or Charity of one’s choice.
