Obituary for Barbara J. Jenkins
Barbara Joan (Pierce) Jenkins told everyone who would listen that she would soon see Jesus. She met him face to face on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 87. Her family and friends are rejoicing that she is out of pain, even as we intensely miss her.
Barb loved dancing, gardening, spending time with her family, reading, playing volleyball, Thursday Night Bible Study at Lakeview Meadows, singing old hymns, crossword puzzles, eating at the Big Boy Restaurant, peanut butter, coffee, and macaroni and cheese.
She was the youngest child of the late Earl and Desda (Lane) Pierce, glad to have been married to Loyde Franklin Jenkins for 51 years, until his death in 2003; was mother of three daughter, Dianna (Henry) Lapp of Dunnellon, Florida, Jo Ann Jenkins of Homosassa, Florida and Karin (Daniel Sr.) Botimer of Battle Creek, Michigan; grandmother to Daniel (Andrea) Botimer, Jr., Shawn (Greg) Botimer Tramel, Angie Bass and Vivienna (Adam) Lapp Cassidy; happy to be great-grandmother to eleven; happy to be great great-grandmother to ten and aunt to numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
At Barb’s request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Loved ones and friends are encouraged to celebrate her life and reflect on their own future. Jesus loves you too and wants to welcome you into His presence; only believe and receive.
