Obituary for Barbara Griffin
Barbara Nell Griffin (Hargus), 88, went to her Forever Home with our Lord and Savior on July 2, 2023. She was living at The Legacy at The Oaks of Northpoint Woods in Battle Creek. Barbara was born March 10, 1935, the daughter of Bailie and Lee Hargus.
Barbara loved life, loved her family and had a smile for everyone. She enjoyed finding special ways to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many who considered her “Grandma Barb.” She was just so full of love, such a gem of a person to everyone she encountered. Her kindness and warm smile lightened the load of many.
Barbara retired from Kellogg’s after working there for 31 years where she met many longtime and treasured friends. She had a passion for traveling; she visited all 50 states as well as many countries.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Gary) Norgan and son, David (Dianna) Krick Jr. and daughter-in-law, Jodi Krick; her 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Krick, parents and all siblings. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. She had a way of lighting up the world.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, July 31 from 6-8pm at Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service. A private service will be held for the family at a different time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 65 N. Bedford Rd., BC 49037 or ChristUMCBC.org
