Obituary for Barbara Jean Weaver
Ms. Barbara Jean (Stokes) Weaver 67 of Battle Creek, MI gained her wings on Thursday October 27, 2022, in Battle Creek MI. She was born on March 25, 1955, the daughter of the late Lester "Preacher Boy" Stokes and Essie Mae (Holmes) Stokes.
Barbara attended Battle Creek Public Schools. during her career, she held multiple positions in the health field as a caretaker as well as working in dietary services. and local restaurants
Barbara later married; however, the union has since disjoined.
Barbara is survived by her brother: Lester Stokes Jr, nephews: Larry Stokes, Anthony (Jenny) Stokes, Shaun Bottom, Lester "Jay" Stokes, nieces: Ulisa Stokes, Sirmara (Cedric) Pierce, Kelly stokes, Leslie Stokes, Ashia Ansley. Anita Figgures Tucker, special great nieces: Cykarah Pierce, Amarah Stokes, a host of cousins, aunts, great nieces, great nephews, God children and a stepson. She was preceded in death by a child, her parents, grandparents, sisters: Patricia (Andrew) Figgures Jr., Shirley Stokes, and a stepdaughter.
Barbara was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed, singing, playing cards, listening to music, dancing, sewing, cooking, decorating and fashion. She loved to dress and always matched from her ''head to toe".
Barbara was a warrior as she previously battled and overcame lung cancer. She will always be remembered for her "special touch" in the kitchen and her vibrant personality.
A visitation will be held November 7, 2022 from 11:00am - 12:00pm the Service will be at 12:00pm at Masterpiece Creation Church, 619 N. Washington Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49037
