Bernice Irene Hinds, 91, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born on December 7, 1924, the daughter of Herbert and Johnnie B. (Lewis) Ware.
Bernice was a teacher's aid with the Battle Creek Public Schools for 15 years until retiring.
Bernice is survived by her Daughters, Jonice (Michael) Neville of Battle Creek, MI and Mattie (John) Satterfield of Indianapolis, IN; Son, Ronald (Zenora "Nikki") Hinds of Battle Creek, MI; Granddaughter, Patricia Crape of Battle Creek, MI; Grandson, Julian (Lenora) Malkawi of Battle Creek, MI; Favorite Niece, Karen Ware of Detroit, MI; Special Nephew, Kenneth (Keeia) Ware of Battle Creek, MI; Special Friends, Gennette (Andrew) Williams of Battle Creek, MI, Lear Jefferson of Battle Creek, MI, Freddie B. Nash, Clara Wilburn and Evelyn Wethers. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband, Garfield Hinds, Son, Earl Hinds, Brother, William (Vanessa) Ware, Special Cousin, Myrtlenne Bounds, Special Friends, B.C. Page and Marzell Ransey.
Bernice enjoyed cooking, watching game shows, westerns and Blue Bloods on television. She enjoyed going to church and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church since 1959 where she served as secretary and usher. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
