Obituary for Betty Donna Allen (Crail)
Betty Donna Allen, 91, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Momentus Health. She was born on July 29, 1931.
Betty graduated from Battle Creek Public Schools. She worked at Oliver's, owned and operated her own restaurant on Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek, ran Allen's M-66 Snack Bar in the bowling alley, operated Total Communications and Allen's T-Shirt. Betty retired from Dietetics at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek after 36 years of dedicated service. She was a hardworking woman and continued to work until the age of 80.
Betty is survived by her sons, John Allen, James Allen, Jeffrey (Sindy) Allen, Jerry (Dawn) Allen; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Sally Holcomb; special daughter, Janet Allen, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy John Allen Jr.; grandsons, Chad and Ryan Allen; great grandson, William Elliott; brother, Howard; sisters, Irene and Lee; and Grandma Priscilla Burlingame.
Betty's main passion was her family. She loved family get-together's and hosted many parties, holiday events and several summer pool parties. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren meant the world to her and she loved everyone she met, she knew no strangers. She will truly be missed by her family and all those that knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at the Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 starting at 9:30 am with Chaplain Jose Macias officiating.
Interment will take place in the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
