Obituary for Betty Tullis-Cook

Betty Tullis-Cook, 74, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away peacefully on May 13, 2021, at home surrounded by family. Born January 8, 1947 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Clyde and Naomi (Shive) Smith. Betty grew up in the Battle Creek area graduating from Pennfield High School in 1965.

Betty worked hard to support her family in multiple professions, retiring in 2006 to spend time with her loving husband, Charlie, whom she met doing what they both love, country line dancing, to travel the roads across the country. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids with their multiple sports functions throughout the years. She also enjoyed reading books, James Patterson was her favorite.
Betty is survived by her sister, Judy (David) Kirkby of Dowling, Michigan; children, Brian (Jessica) Tullis, Stacy (Randy) Fate, Scott Tullis, Andrea (Dan) Knickerbocker, and Tom (Brittany) Cook; grandchildren, Travis (Daisy) Tullis, Brianna (Matt) Pate, David Tullis, Chelsea Dalek, Chelsey (Bobby) Banker and Zachary Tullis; great grandchildren, Maddieson, Landyn, Mykaylah, Emmri, Bennett, Noah and Everly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde & Naomi Smith; husband, Charlie Cook, and grandson Tyler Knickerbocker.

In accordance with Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date where she will be joined with her husband, Charlie at Fort Custer Memorial Cemetery.
