Brenda Iris Douponce, 81, of Bay City, Michigan, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 5:30am. She was born on February 11, 1933, the daughter of Cyril Church and Grace Clara (Betts) Kinville.
Brenda attended Schools in Cambridge England to become a dress maker. Thereafter she was employed by Barclays Bank of England. Upon her arrival in the states, she was employed as a book keeper and later at H&R Block where she worked for over 25 years in Bay City Michigan. Brenda spent her last 9 years in Battle Creek under the wonderful care of Bernie and Sharon Stanton of Eastside A.F.C.
Brenda is survived by her Sons: Kris (Carrie) Douponce of East Leroy, MI and Kirk (Claudia) Douponce of Woodland Park, CO; 6 Grandchildren; Sisters: Christine Browne of Cincinnati, OH and Jacquie (David) Duchane of Santa Fe, NM. She was preceded in death by her Parents and her Husband: Virgil Joseph Douponce.
Brenda came over to the states in 1956 and later became a U.S. Citizen in 1961. Brenda was a proud “Brit” and a devout Anglican. She was an active member of St. Albans Episcopal Church, the cornerstone of her life. Brenda participated in choir, vestry, altar guild and helped run the church bingo.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at the St. Albans Episcopal Church, 105 S. Erie Street, Bay City, MI 48706, on Saturday, January 24, 2015, 11:00 am with the Reverend Mother Sharon officiating.
