Calvin "Cal" Robert Canfield, 92, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Lakeview Assisted Living. He was born on December 12, 1924, the son of Robert A. Canfield and Mildred (Ely) Canfield.
Cal was a 1943 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was an electo-typist where he did engraving at several area companies and then was later employed at Kendall Industrial until retiring in 1990.
Cal is survived by his Wife of 5 years, Gerry (Gore) Kiss Canfield of Battle Creek, MI; Sons, Stephen (Maggie) Canfield of Taylor, MI and John (Myrtle) Canfield of South Bend, IN; Step Son, Ron (Marilyn) Gore; Step Daughter, Sandy (Bruce) Keivit; Grandchildren, Danise (Todd) Hirdler, Jean (Michael) Knight, Amy Garcia, Dionne Moore, Ryan (Rebekah) Canfield, Dana (Matt) Clark, Angela (Matt) Catinella, Stephen (Sarah) Canfield and Paul Canfield; 19 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren; Brother, Stan (W. Jeannie) Canfield. He was preceded in death by his Parents; his First Wife, Mary Jean Canfield (1-30-2009), Brother, Kenneth Canfield, Sisters, Dorothy Hendershot-Latimer and Bonnie Mays.
Cal enjoyed golfing, hand crafting, wood working and was very handy. He was a member of First Assembly of God where he served on the board and as Sunday School Superintendent.
