Obituary for Caroline Ann Mains (Horvat)
Caroline Anne Mains, 86, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Heartland Health Care Center. She was born on March 6, 1932, the daughter of Joseph Horvat and Mary (Papeck) Horvat.
Caroline graduated from Battle Creek Central with the Class of 1951. She was an active and current member at Saint Joseph Catholic Church.
Caroline is survived by her Daughter, Pamela (Scott) Wood; Son, Richard Alan Mains; Sister, Violet (Virgil) Mains; Brother, Gerald (Cathy) Horvat and numerous nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her Father, Joseph Horvat, Mother, Mary Horvat, Husband, Richard E. Mains and Brother, Joseph Horvat, Jr.
Caroline loved living up north with her husband, being in nature feeding her animals and tending to her garden. She enjoyed spending time playing Dominos with her sister and daughter and dancing to the Polka with her brother, Gerald. In her younger years, Caroline taught herself how to play the piano, just by sound. She will be truly missed by all those that knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service , 375 W. Dickman Road, on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 1:00 pm.
Interment will take place in the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
