Carolyn Ann Howard, 85, of Marshall, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 7, 1931, the daughter of Leonard Coltson and Verle (Vrooman) Coltson.
Carolyn graduated from Bellevue High School. Shortly after, she married her loving husband Robert Howard Sr.. From there they began their lives; together they built a motel called "Howard's Motel" in Marshall, which they operated together for nearly 60 years.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Rick) Morris; son, Robert (Sharon) Howard Jr.; Grandchildren, Russell Pryor, Jr., Melissa Lindenbach, Mandy Vidor, Randy Pryor, Kristy Howard, Louie Howard, Emily Parker, Ben McCann, Amy Saylor, and Rikki Case; several great grandchildren; brother, Lee Coltson and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Linda Pryor, and husband, Robert Howard, Sr..
Carolyn loved to go to Disney World with her family. She also enjoyed her Disney inspired tattoos; she had 54. While in Florida her and her husband not only enjoyed Disney but going to watch the Tigers in Spring training. In her younger years she enjoyed harness horse racing. Carolyn was a collector of many things and she loved all the odds and ends. Her smile could warm the room and her memories will be truly cherished by all the lives she touched.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Interment will take place in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marshall, MI.
