Obituary for Carrie Guy

Carrie Mae (Hightower) Guy began her life’s journey on May 22, 1938 in Blytheville Arkansas, when God blessed the late Cecil and Mabel (Thirkeld) Hightower with her. Carrie was one of nine children: four girls and five boys. She was a member of New Deliverance MB Church in Battle Creek, Michigan under the direction of Pastor Charles Thomas.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Guy; four brothers, Cecil Hightower, Jr. Donnie Hightower, James Hightower, and Orel Hightower; two sisters, Shirley Hightower-Howard and Polly Diane Hightower-McGowan.
We were not brought here to mourn for Carrie but to reflect on her amazing life of 82 years. On May 15, 2021 the Lord saw fit to call her to eternal rest. She is survived by one daughter, Genea Guy; grandchildren: DePree Guy, LaRoy Johnson, Jr., KaVon Johnson, and Kiara Guy; great-grandchildren: Korianna Johnson, Arrion Page, and Na’va Diah Queen Rosetta Johnson; a very special friend, Ruth Caldwell, all of Battle Creek Michigan; one sister, Juanita Hightower of Chicago, Illinois; two brothers, John (Valarie) Thomas Hightower of Charleston, Missouri, Harry (Mary) Hightower of Madison, Alabama and a host of nieces and nephews.
