Obituary for Carrie Jean VanDenberg (Moore)
Carrie Jean VanDenberg, 88, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Brenda Moore Personal Care Home. She was born on December 6, 1934, the daughter of James Moore and Thelma (Burrows) Moore.
Carrie attended Cheboygan High School. She married the love of her life, Paul VanDenberg in June of 1969. She and Paul were active members of the First Christian Church, where Carrie sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was a Worship Leader. They were very strong and dedicated to their faiths and always loved to volunteer at the church and spend time with the children. She worked for many years at Friend of the Court as a clerk from which she retired. She and Paul loved to travel and camp and were members of the Flaky Flyers Camping Group. Carrie loved to crochet, knit and do crafts. She made her own personalized holiday cards for friends and family that everyone loved to receive.
Carrie is survived by her son, Michael (Meleah) VanDenberg; daughter, Vicki (Stacey) Bird-Jones; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul VanDenberg; children, Gene Martin, Janice Hicks and brother, Donald Moore.
At this time, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time.
