Obituary for Chanie Magee-Williams

Chanie Mae Eliza Magee-Williams was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 5, 1942, to Emmett
Beasley and Virgie (Bailey) Beasley. Chanie graduated from Detroit public school.

Mother Chanie was married twice, and from the first marriage was born three beautiful
children. Mother Chanie was a beautiful, loving, caring, strong, and real Mother who raised her
three children.

Mother Chanie was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1983. She loved
singing and listening to gospel music. When she would hear her favorite song, you would know
it. She loved serving the Lord and giving God the praise. You would find her ushering, singing in
the choir, working in the kitchen and playing the tambourine.

Mother Chanie was the late Pastor Ollie Rudolph’s personal housekeeper for years and served
faithfully under her ministry at Bethlehem Temple of Springfield where she remained faithful
under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop Tony Thomas until her passing.

Mother Chanie loved people; she was a caring person who would do anything for anyone. She
was the life of the party, if you hung around her, you were in good company. If you needed to
laugh, it was easy in her presence. Mother Chanie had a smile that was out of this world.

Mother Chanie would ride her power chair all over town, she never let any grass grow under
her feet, she was a go-getter.

Mother Chanie enjoyed doing her word search and watching her favorite show Gunsmoke.

Mother Chanie was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory; one sister; Laverne Stevenson, three children; Kenneth (Jeanine)
Magee, Cecelia Magee, Kevin (Coretta) Magee, four grandchildren; Kevin Magee Jr, Kamille
Magee, Kenneth Magee, Keshawn Magee, niece; Shatina Stevenson, a long-time best friend;
Peggy Bryant, a special friend; Marie Taylor, and everyone who had the opportunity to be
touched by her life.

She was proceeded in death by both parents and both husbands.
