Obituary for Charles H. McBride

Charles Harold McBride, 80 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on March 4, 2021 at his daughter’s home in Battle Creek, Michigan, with his family by his side after a heroic battle with cancer. Chuck was born October 25, 1940 in Defiance, Ohio to Grace Evelyn Maberson and Harold Earl McBride.

He spent 2 years in the US Air Force out of high school and most of his career was spent as a truck driver, lastly working for Bohren Logistics in Garrett. Chuck’s hobbies included gardening, fishing and knife making which he turned into a side business known as MAC Custom Knives where he could be found at the Gun and Knife Shows selling the knives he had made and always ready with his grinder to sharpen knives that attendees would bring in.

He is survived by his sister, Deanna Languille of Gainesville Florida, Martha Ridenour and Linda Stevens of Auburn, Indiana and Carl McBride of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Ed McBride and Cynthia Campbell of Battle Creek, Michigan and Barbara (Ron) Bookmyer of Coldwater, Michigan; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

In accordance with Charles' wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Baxter Funeral & Cremation.
