Obituary

Charles “Charlie” M. Miller, loving husband, father and grandfather, 80, Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in 1939 in Vicksburg, Michigan, to Aaron and Leanna Miller. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1958. Then, served in the Marines from 1958-1962.
Charlie married Shirley D. Miller in 1980, and they enjoyed 39 years of marriage.
He retired from the Canadian National Railway (formerly Grand Trunk Western Railroad) in 2001 after 39 years of service.
He had a passion for exercise and was a life-long member of the Battle Creek YMCA. In retirement he enjoyed working at the YMCA tuning up the spin bikes. He loved time with his grandkids and enjoyed going to their sporting events and dance recitals. Charlie will be remembered for his quick sense of humor and optimism. I always enjoyed working with Charlie. I worked with him many times into Chicago and in Kalamazoo. He was very contientous. Always a treat to be around. RIP Charlie.

My Grandpa Charlie was the most reliable & caring man I’ve ever met. I’m blessed to say that he was a huge part of my life. There was never a time I called on him and he wasn’t right by side. God knows living without him will be one of the hardest things my family and I have had to overcome but his memory will forever live on in our hearts.

I have many great memories of growing up with this family at an early age. My most prominent memory was when Dayna would take me out to her dads lake house. What awesome times we had there! My condolences to the family. ❤️
