Charles P. Walling, 65, of Battle Creek lost his long battle with cancer on November 17, 2021.Charles was born October 30, 1956 in Battle Creek, MI to Charles Donald and Anna Lee (Morgan) Walling. He retired from Semco Energy after 45 years of service in 2019.

Charles married Sherrie (Burley) on March 28, 1975, who survives. He is also survived by his children, Charles (Jessica) Walling Jr., Sonia (Steve) Jones; grandchildren, Samantha Walling, Curtis Walling; great-grandson, Dakota Cooley. Charles is also survived by 2 brothers, Jim (Teresa) Walling, and Randy Walling. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Howk.

Charles enjoyed walleye fishing and spending time with family and friends. Most of the time he could be found out in the yard with his dog, Sadie, or sitting in his chair watching fishing shows. He enjoyed his summer trips to Canada fishing and going up north to ice fish each year.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11:00 am at 375 W. Dickman Road, Battle Creek, MI 49037, Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service.

A burial service is planned for a later date at the Walling Cemetery in Tennessee.
