Obituary for Cheryl Ann Emswiler

Cheryl Ann Emswiler, 50, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020. She was born on October 9, 1969, the daughter of Gary Lee Woodward and Myra (Tarrance) Woodward. She loved being a Shipt Shopper for the community of Battle Creek. Her greatest treasure and legacy were her children and grandchildren; who she devoted every available moment to their care and support.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Chris Emswiler; father, Gary Woodward; sister, April Woodward-Slack; children, Bryan Woodward, Travis Hollis, Courtney Hollis, Kaitlynne (Ben) Reed, Shelby Platteborze, Brennen Platteborze; stepchildren, Zachary Emswiler, Jakob Emswiler, Noah Emswiler, Gabriel Emswiler, Israel Emswiler; grandchildren, Abigail Woodward, Bentley Woodward, Daniel Hollis, Mila Hollis, Damian Hollis, Marshall Reed; Uncle, Ken Watson; Aunt, Gail Watson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Myra Woodward.

She enjoyed reading, going to the beach (or anywhere that was warm), going to yard sales (Looking for treasures, whether they were needed or not). Cheryl was a lifelong friend to many and sought to comfort everyone she met.

The funeral service will be held at the Wakeshma Community Church, 16732 East UV Ave, Fulton, Michigan on Friday, September 25, 2020, at 1:00 PM with Pastor David Mackaluso of Wakeshma Community Church officiating, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Cheryl’s name may be made to the family.
