Chester Lee Patterson, 59, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born on October 9, 1955, the son of Ernest Patterson and Bertha (Childs) Patterson.
Chester graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and then attended Kellogg Community College. He worked at Clarks Equipment, Eaton Corp. and retired from the City of Battle Creek in 2005.
Chester is survived by his Wife of 13 years - Kathy (Shelton) Patterson; Brother, Ernest (Angela) Patterson; three Sons, Gerbree (Celeste) Gordon, Michael Shelton, Barry Shelton; five Daughters, Monica (Marquis) Bumpas, Tiffiney (Calvin) Smith, Sareena Patterson, Brittney Poindexter, Nikita Patterson; 16 Grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Chester enjoyed playing all sports but he loved to play baseball. He played basketball and football. He was also a fan of bowling and was on a league. Chester enjoyed all of his family and spending his free time with them. He loved the young and the restless. Chester was a fun loving man who could talk to anybody about anything. He was a people person and enjoyed helping everybody.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, July 31 at 12:00 pm with Minister Malcolm Satterfield officiating.
Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.
A repass will follow at Claude Evans Park.
