Obituary for Christopher Jason Coyer
Christopher Jason Coyer, 49, passed away February 21, 2023. He was born March 2nd, 1973 to Sharen and Charles Coyer in Battle Creek, Michigan. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1992.
Chris was an avid outdoorsman. He especially loved hunting and fishing. Chris traveled around the country with his closest friends on many hunting trips and had hundreds of stories of their adventures over the years. He started his daughter, Taylar, fishing at a very young age and loved spending that time with her outdoors. Chris was wonderful with children and loved goofing around with his niece and nephews. He had recently become a proud grandfather. He was an active member and trustee of the Elks Lodge #131 in Battle Creek where he enjoyed helping with events and camping.
Chris is survived by his mother, Sharen Coyer; father, Charles Coyer; twin brother, Chad Coyer; sister, Andrea Hover (Nick Wilkerson); daughter, Taylar Coyer; niece, Jaydin Coyer; nephews, Tucker and Sawyer Wilkerson; granddaughter, Layla Nailor; aunt, Sandra (Avon) Selby; and cousins, Kevin Selby and April Selby. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Patricia Sherman; and paternal grandparents, Richard and Clarabel Coyer.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday March, 4, 2023 at the Lodge of the BPO Elks #131 in Battle Creek. The family will greet friends beginning at 2:00pm.
