Clayton “Red” Roberts, age 87 of Jackson, sadly passed away at his daughter’s home in Battle Creek on October 16, 2020.
He was born November 29, 1932 in Hyden, Kentucky to Thomas and Nora Roberts. Clayton retired from St. Regis/Champion International after 41 years where he held many titles such as Plant Manager and Purchasing Representative. He was also elected and held the position of Girard Township Clerk from 1994 - 2008.
He is survived by his children: Barbara Vought, Patricia (Rodney) Carl, Lisa (Thomas) Woods, Douglas (Debra) Roberts, Melissa (John) Bennett, Elizabeth (Tyler) Larson and Levi Roberts. He is also survived by siblings: Thomas Roberts, Mary Daly and Daniel Roberts along with 15 Grandchildren and 33 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Roberts, and 5 siblings.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, wood working, fishing and boating.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated with an immediate family only service.
