Obituary for Clinton Prescott Clark

Clinton Prescott Clark, 62 of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2022. He was born in Battle Creek, MI on September 23, 1959. He was the second youngest of ten siblings born to Vernon and Mary L. Clark. He attended Battle Creek Public School. Clint worked for Battle Creek Housing Authority and other numerous employers in Battle Creek.

Clint's most favorite employment was working with his sister, Bernice, at Kellogg Community College as her Assistant Prep Cook. Clint was known for his famous smothered potatoes minus onions, tomatoes and green pepper. He was a super picky eater.

Clint loved spending time with his sons and daughters. He had many friends and was always the life of the party. Clint enjoyed cooking, listening to old school music, watching Westerns, football and basketball games. He was also known as the Mayor of the New Back "40" and enjoyed taking long country rides with his brother Conrad and bike rides with his brother Otis. He also loved helping his nieces and nephews with all their home improvement projects and teasing his great niece, Amiyah.

Clint is survived by his children, Tramine Anthony Armstrong of Battle Creek, Fashawna Clark of Chattanooga, TN, Prescott D. Shelton-Clark of Battle Creek, Natasha Shuford of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Deanna T. Louden Shelton of Lansing, J Breonna D.L. Broadnax of Elkhart, IN, Zion Clark of Chattanooga, TN, Trumaine Armstrong of Battle Creek; great granddaughter, Riley of Battle Creek; siblings, MacArthur (Melinda) Clark, Roosevelt Clark, Otis B. Clark, Conrad (Charletta) Clark, Viola Clark-Carr-Phillips all of Battle Creek.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Clark, mother, Mary L. Clark, brothers, Noah, Charles, David Clark and sister, Bernice Clark Jackson.

Clint was truly loved and will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 636 W. Van Buren Street, Battle Creek, MI, on Saturday, June 25, 2022 starting at 1:00 pm.
