Clinton Elmer Dove, 87, of Battle Creek, MI, died, Saturday, April 23, 2011 at his home. He was born April 6, 1924 the son of Clinton B. Dove and Merle (Henry) Dove.
He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and then attended Kellogg Community College. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was employed with Ralston Purina and then later at Grand Trunk Rail Road for 28 years until retiring in 1986.
Clinton is survived by Wife of 41 years: Betty Dove of Battle Creek, MI; Son: Clinton Lee Dove of Nevada, Greg (Michelle) Dove of Battle Creek, MI and Clayton (Joanna) Dove of Battle Creek, MI; Daughter: Kimberly Dove of Colorado; 6 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren; Sister: Deanna (David) Adams of Jackson, MI.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Brother: Jerry Dove; and Sister: Virginia Braxmeier.
Clinton enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and water aerobics at the Y Center. He received a certificate from the neighborhood children as the neighborhoods honorary grandfather. He was a member of the American Legion Post #54.
A memorial service will be held at the Ft. Custer National Cemetery on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 11 AM with Pastor Sueann Hagan of Convis Union United Methodist Church officiating.
