Obituary for Constance Faye Mello (Weiher)

Constance Faye Mello, 72, of Battle Creek passed away quietly at home on August 3, 2021, surrounded by family. She was born on May 5, 1949, to Bernieta Calder (Callahan) and Leonard Weiher.

She lived in Battle Creek all of her life and was a graduate of Pennfield High School. She retired from Post Cereal after thirty years of service.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved traveling to Florida six months out of the year with her loving, devoted husband, David Mello, who took special care of her until the end. She loved spending time with her family and friends, riding the motorcycle with David, traveling and pruning her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Weiher and brother, Robert Weiher. Surviving are her husband, David Mello; mother, Bernieta Calder; daughters, Kelly (Christian) Bodell and Christine (James) Kellay; sons, Don Mello, Brian (Heather) Mello; Brothers, Terry Weiher, Kevin (Stacey) Calder, Kurt (Jamie) Calder and six amazing grandchildren.

In accordance with Constance’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in the near future for immediate family. Memorial contributions in Constance’s name may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the Humane Society Calhoun County.
