Corine P. (Prince) Johnson, 79, of Battle Creek, MI, , Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek Michigan. She was born June 23, 1923, the daughter of Ernest Prince and Hattie Lee (Parker) Prince.
She graduated from Calmese Beauty College in 1962 and Wright Beauty Academy. Corine was honored by President John F. Kennedy with the Youth and Adult Educational Development Award. She was also employed with the VA Medical Center.
Corine is survived by her Children: Geraldine (Curtis) Alton Washington of Los Angeles, CA, Annie L. Johnson of Battle Creek, Corine Johnson (White), Emily Y. Johnson; 8 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Robert and Marvelle Prince of Battle Creek; Sister, Clarice Chapell and Ella R. Stewart of Los Angeles, CA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Lee Johnson; Daughter, MaryAnn Pierce; Grandson Premiere C. White, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Family will receive friends Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will take place Friday at 1:00 PM at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service 375 W.
