Obituary for Curtis Grayer

Reverend Curtis Grayer Sr went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2022, at age 74. He passed peacefully at Glenn Arbor Hospice Centrica Care in Battle Creek, MI.
He was born on March 19, 1948, in Independence, LA. Rev Grayer was the son of the late James Grayer Sr and Alberta Brown, also of Independence, LA.
Rev Grayer leaves his loving wife of 25 years, Michele S Grayer to cherish his memory. They were married June 7, 1997, in Battle Creek, MI.
In addition to being a dedicated husband a loving father and grandfather, Rev Grayer also loved praising Jesus. He held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
He retired from General Motors, he enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle and was an avid runner, but above all he loved spending time with his family.
Rev Grayer joins his daughter Rosalind Roberson in Heaven. He is survived by his children Curtis Grayer Jr, James Tyson Grayer III, Anthony J Grayer, Darren E Jones, Victor Andrews and Patrick D Dreams all from Battle Creek, MI, Derrick D Grayer of Garden Grove, CA, Marlow L Grayer of Indianapolis, IN, Maiyen Abernathy of South Haven, MI, Catina Austin-Burton of Melissa, TX, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A family hour will be at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 636 W Van Buran St, Battle Creek, MI on Monday, September 26, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The service will begin at 11:00 AM. Pastor Timothy Troxler will be officiating. Rev Grayer will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI.
The family will host the repass in celebration of Rev Grayer’s life after the graveside service at the American Legion Post 298 located at 228 N 20th St, Battle Creek, MI. Arrangements by the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service. 269-788-9800 www.baxterfuneral.com
