Curtis Sylvester Harris I, 78, of Bellevue, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born on September 20, 1941, the son of Haywood Robert and Minnie Lee (Edwards) Harris.
Curtis proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He was an avid member of the formerly known Emmett Street Missionary Church, and enjoyed co-leading a Small Group and teaching Bible Study.
Curtis is survived by his Wife of 23 years, Shirley (Metzger) Harris; Son, Curtis S. Harris II; Two Step-Daughters, Tina Lilly, RoseAnn Rabideau; Two Brothers, Chester Harris, Leonard Harris; Two Sisters, Jeanne Harris, Dorothy Harris and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Brothers, Luther Harris and Haywood Harris Jr.
Curtis was a "do-it-yourself" kind of guy. He spent many hours working on the property with his Kubota tractor. He enjoyed golfing in his later years, he never could decide if he was working or relaxing while on the green. He truly loved his family, and enjoyed the time he had with them.
Memorial services will be held at the Battle Creek Community Church, formerly Emmett Street Missionary Church, 552 E. Emmett Street, on Friday, December 6, 2019, 1:00 pm with Pastor Mike McGlynn officiating.
