Obituary for Darlene A. Robertson

Darlene Ann Robertson was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. At age 64, Darlene passed away on May 16, 2021, with her family by her side in Surprise, Arizona.

Darlene was born to Lee “LP” Bradley and Allie Mae Stokes on March 15, 1957. She was the 3rd of 5 children. Darlene attended Battle Creek Central High School and graduated in 1975. She worked for General Motors for 10 years and later retired from Waverly School District after 20 plus years.

Darlene met the love of her life, Albert, in 1981 in Lansing, Michigan. They had been inseparable ever since. They pastored Greater Love Apostolic Temple church together for 32 years. They enjoyed traveling together and spending time visiting with family and friends.
Darlene was known for her loving kindness and generosity. She faithfully served the Lord and evangelized at every opportunity. Whenever and wherever she could help a family member, friend, or stranger in need, she unselfishly gave of herself.

Darlene leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 39 years, Albert Robertson. Her 8 children, Kevin Orsborne, Keith Johnson, Tim Lloyd, Chandra Berry, Antwan (Bradley) Gilkey, Clevon Robertson, Daniell Robertson and Quintina Robertson. Her siblings, Charlene Thompson, Calvin Bradley, Janice Bradley, and Ricky Bradley. She was affectionately known as Momma D to her 29 grandchildren and great grandchild and a host of bonus family.

She is preceded in death by parents, Allie Mae Bradley and Lee “LP” Bradley. Special cousins; Shirley Stokes, Willie C. Stokes, Moses “Smut” Wheat, great-nephew Corey Roberts and Uncle Lester “Preacher” Stokes.

The funeral service will take place on Tuesday June 1, 2021 at First Assembly of God, 800 S. 24th Street Battle Creek at 12:00, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
