Darris T. Deal Jr., 69, passed away at home on February 15, 2023. He was born on August 7, 1953. Darris attended St. Jerome Elementary and then later Gull Lake High School and graduated in 1971. He achieved Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts through St. Jerome Church where the Deal family were active parishioners.

Darris became a 10th District Calhoun County Court Bailiff in 1986 primarily working for Judge Franklin Line. Darris retired in 2013 after working 29.7 years.

Darris was preceded in death by his parents, Darris and Mary Deal. He is survived by his son, Chris; grandchildren, Jabrien, Javani, Chloe; great aunt, Lenora Wilson of Chicago, IL; sister, Janita; nephew, Darris Curly Deal; niece, Shayna Robinson-O'Neal; nephew, Wesley Miller; and a host of special cousins, friends and co-workers.

A full catholic mass will be held at the St. Jerome Catholic Church, 229 Collier Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49037, on March 18, 2023 at 12:00 pm (noon) with Rev. Christopher J. Ankley officiating.
