Daryl Ferguson, age 85 passed away, at home on Feb. 4, 2021. Daryl was born in Battle Creek on January 26, 1936. His parents were George Clinton Ferguson and Bernice (Nicewander) Ferguson.

Daryl has one brother Jerry (Katie) Ferguson. He was preceded in death by two other brothers; Darwin (Daryl’s twin) and Keith, and his half sister, Beulah Weeks.

Daryl married Ann Dorsey on April 23, 1959. Daryl and Ann were blessed with two daughters; Carolyn (Mack) Mann, and Kathy Ferguson (Rob Ayotte). Daryl has one granddaughter, Cara Ferguson (Zack Schroeder) with two great granddaughters; Sawyer and Scout, and one great grandson, Syrus.

Daryl retired from Grand Trunk RR in 1998 with 42 years.

Daryl married Cheri Flesch in September 2010. Daryl’s extended family includes, Laura (Jason) Williams, Theresa Shippel, Michelle (Todd) White, and Gregory (Shannon) Flesch. He also has nine step grandchildren.

Daryl always loved life and especially his family very much. During his lifetime, he enjoyed family vacations, Tigers baseball games, bowling, hunting & fishing, and loved playing cards. (He started playing bridge for the first time in 2010, and it became his favorite card game).

Daryl and Cheri traveled to Florida for 1-2 months over the last 9 years and have many wonderful memories.

Daryl was very much loved; he had a wonderful smile, sense of humor and loved life so much he always said “I want to live to be 100”. He will be very much missed.

A private family only visitation and service will be held to celebrate Daryl's life.
