Obituary for David Lee Patton

Mr. David Lee Patton was born October 26, 1949, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of Jesse and Velma (Polk) Patton. He attended the Battle Creek Public Schools and was a 1968 Graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. While in high school he ran Cross County Track and was a member of the Track Team. David was a disabled veteran who served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He received an Honorable Discharge. He was formerly employed at Consumers Energy and the Veteran Administration Medical Center. He enjoyed watching sports on television and spending time with family and friends. One of his favorite sayings was “la la and la la land.”

David departed this life Sunday, May 4, 2014. He leaves with cherished memories, his sister, JoAnn (Charles) Knox; nephews, Robby (Leitia) Patton and James Grandberry of Battle Creek, MI, Darrin Patton of Chicago, IL; nieces, Rochelle Patton of Kalamazoo, MI, Carla Knox-Williams, Fallon Knox and Felicia Knox of Battle Creek, MI; special friend, Keisha Williams and her daughter, Diamon Williams; sister-in-law, Ernestine Whitehead; a host of great and great-great nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Polk, Jr.; sisters, Sherry (Patton) McLaughlin, and Jessie (Patton) Felton.
