Obituary for David Dan Wilson

David passed away suddenly and peacefully, September 15th 2018, leaving behind his loving family. We will all miss the good times with him at family parties. He will be missed by his many friends on Facebook.
David loved to be around water, enjoyed fishing and looking at sunsets over the water.
He and his wife, Diana loved going out to eat with his sister, and brother in law, Norma and Don Ludlow. Many wonderful afternoons were spent with family and friends picnicking in Norma and Don's back yard. He and his sister, Billie teased each other, joked and laughed.
David Dan Wilson was born January 27th 1942 to Edna and Bill Wilson in Chattanooga Tennessee. His family later lived in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. His dad owned a shrimp boat and would often take David with him.
When David was nine his family moved to Chattanooga Tennessee, when he was eleven they moved to Battle Creek.
David's father bought him a guitar which began a lifelong love of music.
David married Linda Traister (now deceased) they had two children Dan and Kim.
David played professionally in bands around the Battle Creek area, married Betty Scoval and they went to California with his band in the sixties. Later they returned to Battle Creek, and had two children Becky and Kristy.
In 1971 David and Diana were married and traveled to Orlando and Jacksonville Florida with the band. They returned to Michigan and had two children, Jamie and Nathan.
David, Diana and their boys enjoyed playing music together. David loved Diana's family, Mary and Dale Holmes, Janet and Chuck Coats, Mary Lou and Al Benneian and all of their children. He learned a lot about home repairs working with Dale restoring houses. Dale was a mentor to David and a father figure.
David continued to play music professionally mainly in lower Michigan. David also worked at Bradford White Corp. until he suffered an injury in 1997.
David loved technology and was very interested in politics, a true advocate for social justice and equality for all.
David and Diana celebrated their 47th anniversary July 6th 2018.
He was proceeded in death by his father, mother and daughter, Kim, sisters Ruth DuRocher, and Bobby Purcell. David is survived by his loving wife, Diana, sisters, Norma (Don) Ludlow, Billie Bartholomew, children Dan Mcnally, Becky Crowe, Kristi Allred, Jamie Wilson and Nathan Wilson, many loved nieces, nephews’ grandchildren and great grandchildren.
