Dean was my friend and colleague at KCC for many years. I, along with many students, will miss his sharp wit, encyclopedic knowledge and wisdom. Back in 1964, Dean was one of the original founders and proud member of a local sports-social tradition known as the FATC. Keith Schirmer, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Dean Barnum was my first department chair at Kellogg Community College and instrumental in hiring me. He was an excellent leader, very organized and knowledgeable. We delighted in trying to find trivia that he would not know and we were never successful. He would have been great on Jeopardy and explains why he could do the NY Times Crossword puzzle in INK! He left a great legacy to us at KCC and to his students.
