Delora Marie Gibbs, 71, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. She was born on February 9, 1949, the daughter of the late Johnny Frank Wilson and Otelia E. Turner. She graduated from Norfolk, VA public schools. She met Leroy Gibbs Sr. in 1967, while he was in the US Navy and stationed in Norfolk. They were married in October of 1970. She gave her life to the Lord at a young age. She was a homemaker for several years, raising her own children and helped to raise several of the kids in the neighborhood. Delora then took a job in housecleaning at the Battle Creek Inn, where she worked for 15 years.

Delora is survived by her son, Leroy Gibbs, Jr.; three daughters, Renee D. Gibbs, Darlene K. Gibbs, and Leslie M. Fields-Gibbs; 8 grandchildren, Leroy III, Austin, Natalia, Armand, Malayah, Leonardo II, Saralina, and Jayla; 1 great-grandchild, Leilani; Four Brothers, Larry Turner, Johnny Turner, Albert Turner, Randolph (Cynthia) Turner; Two Sisters, Christine Turner, Diane Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Gibbs; sisters, Minnie Malone and Geraldine Turner.

Delora loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. She loved to cook and play bingo. She also loved to watch television and some of her favorite programs were: Forensic Files, the Lifetime Channels, and Soul Train.

Interment will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery after a small private family service.
