Dennis G. Ackley, 70, of , Battle Creek, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Heartland Health Care Center. He was born on November 7, 1946, the son of Delbert G. Ackley and Betty Jane (Balch) Ackley.
Dennis honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He also attended First Wesleyan Church for many years.
Denny is survived by Four Nephews, Scott G. (Becky) Thompson of Battle Creek, MI, Gary Fred (Sandy) Thompson, Lee Ackley, Tim; Niece, Michelle Carol (Mark) Brandt of Seattle, WA, and many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his Father, Delbert G. Ackley, Mother, Betty Jane Ackley, Sister, Judith Elizabeth Thompson, Brother, Thomas G. Ackley.
Denny loved NASCAR, bowling and slot cars. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers baseball, and Detroit Lions football. Denny had a love for animals, especially his dog, Mickey. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and watching them grow.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, at a later date.
