Obituary for Donald Morgan

Donald H. Morgan, of Battle Creek, MI was born on August 14th, 1955 to Roy and Dorothy Morgan in Turrell, Arkansas. As a young child his family moved to Warren, MI. He was the 8th of 9 children. At the age of 8 years old he met the love of his life, Gwendolyn Cummins, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God. Don pulled the bows off of Gwen’s new black patent leather shoes and then it was love. Don and Gwen married at the age of 18 and began their life’s journey together. They have three daughters, Mandy (Shane) Cope, Kelly (Nick) Brizendine, and Katie (Ryan) Thurman.

Don had a wonderful singing voice and he and Gwen served as worship leaders and worked in the youth ministry where they changed many lives for the better. Many people can say that their lives were truly touched by Don during his time of ministry.

He worked at DENSO Manufacturing as an electrician for 25 years, where he met many wonderful friends. He was a hard worker and was always willing to help anyone fix anything.

Don had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He was always telling jokes. His smile was contagious.

He was a wonderful father and adored his grandchildren, Zoe, Maxwell and Addison. Most of all he was a loving devoted husband to Gwen to whom he was married for 45 wonderful years.

After a 2-year battle with metastatic prostate cancer he went to heaven on September 8th, 2019 at the young age of 64. He will be greatly missed but we know that his pain and suffering have ended and that he is with his savior, family and friends. He fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. Don, Dad, Papa - we will love you forever.

Don's amazing life will be celebrated at Baxter's Funeral & Cremation Service, on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 1:00 pm, with the family receiving friends an hour before the celebration.
