Obituary for Donna J. Clarkson

Donna J. Clarkson, 89, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. She was born on June 16, 1931, the daughter of the late Donald E. Rench and Hazel Blanche (Miller) Rench. Donna attended Lakeview Schools. She began working at Kellogg's in 1966 and retired in 1996 after 30 years of service.

Donna is survived by her husband, Alexander Clarkson; three daughters, Cynthia (Nelson) Kloosterman, Linda (Donald) Goulet, and Carleen Martin (Terry); five grandchildren, Jeffrey Boland (Suzanne), Derrick (Amy) Goulet, Dina (Aaron) Mestel, Tamera Hill, and Teri (Chad) Barber; ten great-grandchildren, Johann, Kennedy, Cassidy, Tatum, Emery, Eliza, Cadence, Remington, Raygan, and Annabelle; sister, Janet (Jay) Ellison; and granddaughter-in-law, Denise Boland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Carl Perez Sr.; her son, Carl Perez Jr.; her grandson, Jamie Boland; her sisters, Dorothy Kajcienski, Lois Worthington, Doris Rench, Ethel Rench, Elvah Trethric, Esther Jackson, Mildred Siddall, Marjorie Ismirle, and Beverly Criteser; her brothers, Duane "Bill" Rench and Leo Rench; her son-in-law, Ronald Boland; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Donna enjoyed wintering with Alex in Florida, crocheting, sewing, listening to music, and flower gardening. She found great delight in her toy poodle, Bubbles. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, including Monday night dinners with her extended family. She currently attended Fort Custer Christian Assembly, and formerly attended First Congregational Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The funeral service will be at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, on Friday, December 4, 2020, at 12:00 pm. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Due to current health conditions, a maximum number of 25 people at a time will be welcomed for these events. The funeral service will be live streamed via the Baxter website, (https://www.baxterfuneral.com/). Interment will follow in the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
