Dorothy Lillian (Holcomb) Hallaxs, 86, of Bellevue, MI, died Friday, March 15, 2013 at her home in Battle Creek Michigan. She was born December 1, 1926 the daughter of Clifford Allen Holcomb and Bertha May (Wrate) Russell.
She was a 1945 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. She loved seeing her classmates every year at the annual reunion. Her graduating class developed a very strong bond with each other. She was a homemaker for most of her life, but had worked at Percy Jones Hospital during WWII.


Survived by Daughters: Lulu Hallaxs of Battle Creek, MI and Jeanne Riley of Houston, Tx; Sons: Charles (Vicki) Hallaxs of Paradise, MI and David Hallaxs of Denver, CO; Grandchildren: Lisa (Brent) Passino of Newberry, MI and Christopher Hallaxs of Paradise, MI; Great Grandson: Kyle Passino of Newberry, MI; Sisters: Florence (Holcomb) Burkhead of Bellevue, MI and Rosemary (Holcomb) Walmer of Olivet, MI; Brother: Larry (Jerri) Holcomb of Olivet, MI: and Sister-in-Law: Julia Holcomb of Battle Creek, MI. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Sisters: Clarabel (Holcomb) Suronen and Inez (Holcomb) Rank; and Brother: Ralph Holcomb.

Dorothy was a volunteer for Charitable Union where she sewed and repaired clothing for over 30 years. She loved her children and her kittens. She was member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church where she served as a Sabbath School Teacher for many years.

A memorial service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1:00 PM.
Interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
