Dorothy May (Dunn) Yelton, 89, of Battle Creek, MI, died, Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Reflections. She was born May 30, 1922 the daughter of Harry E. Dunn and Margaret Wilhelmina (Mack) Dunn.
Dorothy was a 1940 graduate of South Eastern High School in Detroit, MI. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker for her family.
Dorothy is survived by Daughter: Margaret "Peggy" (Richard) Hiscock of Battle Creek, MI; Son: Richard (Sherry) Yelton of Indian River, MI; Grandchildren: Pamela Kiss, Jeffrey (Shelley) Kiss, Kay Yelton and Craig Yelton; numerous Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents and Husband: William R. Yelton; Brother: Robert Dunn and Sister: Constance Collins.
Dorothy enjoyed collecting antiques, crocheting and she made several afghans. She loved archeology, books and history. She took up golf after her husband died and received the most improved award. She served as a volunteered in hospital gift shops when she was younger. She enjoyed animals, especially her 2 cats "Charlie" and "Missy". She formerly attended St. Mark Lutheran Church.
A funeral service will be held at the Ft. Custer National Cemetery on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 11:30 AM.
Interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Southern Care Hospice.
