Douglas Eugene Burchard, 67, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born on July 13, 1953, the son of Dallas C. and Leathel A. (Hoffman) Burchard.

Doug was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek and retired from Meijer Bakery on Columbia Avenue. He was very active with Senior Care Partners P.A.C.E. He enjoyed volunteering as a student teacher at P.A.C.E., helping those that wanted to be medical professionals diagnose illnesses in patients.

Doug is survived by his Sister, Susan (John) Kistler and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Dallas C. and Leathel A. Burchard.

Doug enjoyed talking on the CB radio, singing karaoke, making people laugh, taking care of his cat, Miss Kitty, listening to rock music especially Ozzy's Boneyard, and going to the movies. He was an avid supporter of the Detroit Lions and Tigers. Doug will be remembered as a caring man that always put others before himself.
