I always loved Doug - and he knew it. I will never forget the time I invited him to my 13th birthday party at the ice rink in Kalamazoo. (back then, it was on Lake Street) We had so much fun skating and chasing each other. Even though he was in love with Patti, (my best friend) I loved him in spite of it. I will always have a memory of Doug because on that day at the skating rink, I fell to the ice and he stopped on my hand with his skate. I still (at 59 years old) have the scar and have always cherished it (smile). I think of him often and am saddened that I missed my buddy's departure. I know he had a great heart and that he will always be with me in spirit. I love you Doug. See you again, my friend.
