Obituary for Earl L. Fritts

Earl L. Fritts, age 85, of Battle Creek returned home to the Lord, Tuesday, October 9, 2012. He was born on November 22, 1926 in Plainwell, MI to Rachel (Wright) and Clyde L. Fritts. He served his country during WWII, and graduated from Albion College and WMU following his military service. Earl taught science for 34 year and was an assistant principal at Lakeview Highland Junior High. Earl enjoyed gardening, square dancing, working on older cars, hunting, boating and fishing.

Earl and Marilyn have resided in Battle Creek 48 years in the house he built. Earl is survived by his wife, Marilyn E. (Wentworth) Fritts of 61 years; daughters, Kathleen (Steve) VanLeeuwen of Portage, Linda (Roger) Carlton of Climax, Velena (Mark) Moran of Madison, AL, Lori (Randy) Stanton of East LeRoy; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Sonoma United Methodist Church, 4790 Capital Ave. SW, Battle Creek, MI 49015, on October 12, 2012 at 11:00AM, with Pastor Sally Harrington and Richard Wilson officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Sonoma United Methodist Church.
