Obituary for Edward Lee Green
Edward Lee Green, 69, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Ascension Borgess Hospital. He was born on May 25, 1952, the son of Rufus Davis and Oreatha (Green) Reed.
Big Ed was an active member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. After 30+ years of dedicated work, Ed retired from Flex-N-Gate in Battle Creek. Ed married Donna Yore on August 4, 2012 and the two spent the following years together growing and loving one another.
Big Ed is survived by his wife, Donna (Yore) Green; children, Triege Bertram, Edward Ingram, Triegena Green, LaToy Green, Delane Green, Danesha (Harold) Morseau, Marcus Swinegan and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Delquindra Cummings; son, Michael Swinegan, siblings, Charlotte Reed, Benny Green, Ben Reed, Walter Reed and Karl Reed.
Big Ed had a passion for fishing. He enjoyed the open water and taking days to relax. He enjoyed traveling, hosting parties, making his signature dressing and spending time with his family. He was a family man and always made sure that they were taken care of and loved. He was a man of the Lord and always stayed strong in his faith.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 636 W. Van Buren Street, on Saturday, March 12, 2022, 1:00 pm with Rev. Timothy Troxler of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
